For the artist, Sigrid Tanghe, organic structures are a virtual playground of directions, lines, forms and spaces. She gleefully delves into them in search of a structure, and then another, and then hundreds of others…: plant stems, rock formations, clumps of foliage, dried or freshly tilled earth, … These objects contain a certain natural rhythm and therefore betray a certain regularity. It is precisely these organic regularities that engage her most. She explores their structure, momentarily captures them and then renders them visible via a medium. The number of possibilities of finding that structure make this an extremely exciting “game” for her. Down with the anecdote. Nature must become manuscript. Patterns come into existence, gain autonomy, find their freedom and then duplicate themselves. Welcome to this organic world.
